Autographed Framed Display
$6,995.00 - Product is currently out of stock.
Thomas Alva Edison (February 11, 1847 – October 18, 1931), American inventor and businessman, authentic, autographed photograph displayed in a framed shadow box with working vintage-styled light bulb.
Edison developed many devices that greatly influenced life around the world, including the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical electric light bulb. Dubbed "The Wizard of Menlo Park," he was one of the first inventors to apply the principles of mass production and large-scale teamwork to the process of invention, and because of that, he is often credited with the creation of the first industrial research laboratory.
Photograph signed “Thos A Edison," 9 x 7 inches; affixed to a photographer’s mount, 10 x 8.75 inches (visible), boldly signed on mount with his trademark umbrella signature. Undated. Imaginatively displayed in a wooden shadow box frame with a working vintage-style light bulb. The bulb lights from a pull-chain drawn through the frame allowing it to be lit or turned off without opening the framed box.
Edison and his secretary William H. Meadowcroft (far right) are pictured in the Chemistry lab at his West Orange Laboratory. Four men are presenting a seated Edison with a framed display of what seems to be a tribute to the inventor.
A beautifully designed, true one-of-a-kind offering.
Fine condition.
