Herman Mynter

John George Milburn (December 14, 1851 – August 11, 1930), renown surgeon, authentic, autographed vintage handwritten quotation (AQS), 7.75 x 5. Mynter is best known as the assistant surgeon who attended to President McKinley after he was shot at the Pan-American Exposition in 1901.

Extracted from the pages of a 1902 Autograph Calendar book recovered from Orange Memorial Hospital, New Jersey, Mynter added the following quote to a page with the printed date of November 26: "The world has never known but one other instance of such forgiveness of a betrayer, and that happened 1900 years ago. Herman Mynter."

In very good condition, with overall light toning, a vertical fold near the right edge, some light running to the signature and adhesive professionally affixed to the left edge.
