Andrew Lawrence Riker (1868–1930), early automobile designer and designer of the electric car, authentic, unsigned, original, vintage silver print photograph by Pach Brothers, New York.
Riker began experimenting with electric vehicles in 1884. He formed the Riker Electric Motor Company in 1888 to make electric motors, and a year later formed the Riker Motor Vehicle Company in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The company was absorbed by the Electric Vehicle Company in 1901.
This vintage photograph, measuring 4.5 x 6.5 inches is in fine condition aside from some very slight age wear, chipping and pin-holes to its corners. It is blind stamed "Pach Bros. N.Y." in its front lower right hand corner.
