Original "Wanted By The FBI" notice for information leading to the apprehension of "Robert George Clifford, Jr. / Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (Murder)...Clifford is being sought for multiple murders...," posted on March 13, 1958 by "John Edgar Hoover, Director / Bureau of Investigation / United States Department of Justice / Washington, D. C."
Verso bears print: "Federal Bureau of Investigation / United States Department of Justice / Official Business," along with a lengthy list of branches and a pencil notation in an unknown hand.
From the collection of Police Chief Michael Webb (1950-2009). Webb joined the Vinita Park, Missouri police force in 1974 and served until his death in 2009, during which time he purchased crime artifacts from relatives of criminals and law officers. Boasting more than 8,000 wanted posters, pieces of Webb’s collection have been featured in film and displayed at the National Crime and Punishment Museum in Washington.
Measuring approximately 10.5 x 16, this notice is in overall fine condition, with light toning, light wrinkling, intersecting folds and a small tear to the bottom edge.
