Two original Wanted Notices, the first from the "Headquarters of the Police Department / Boston, Mass." for a "Missing Boy / Joseph E. Hubbard, Age 15 years...He has always had a longing to evangelize the western Indian tribes, and may be found around Indian reservations...if located, please detain him and wire me," posted by "William H. Pierce, Superintendent of Police," on August 17, 1910.
Second flier offers a "$100 Reward!" for information leading to the location of "F. M. Haines / Real Estate Trader, Wagoner, Oka," posted by "G. W. Riley, Sheriff Jefferson County / Oskaloosa, Kansas."
From the collection of Police Chief Michael Webb (1950-2009). Webb joined the Vinita Park, Missouri police force in 1974 and served until his death in 2009, during which time he purchased crime artifacts from relatives of criminals and law officers. Boasting more than 8,000 wanted posters, pieces of Webb’s collection have been featured in film and displayed at the National Crime and Punishment Museum in Washington.
Measuring approximately 9.5 x 12.5, these notices exhibit the expected age wear, toning, folds and tearing along the edges.
