Wanted Notice

Original Wanted Notice, offering "$5,000 In Rewards" for information regarding the hold up and robbery of "the Ste. Anne De Bellevue P. Q. Branch of the Bank of Montreal...of Eight Thousand Dollars, by a lone bandit..." posted by "E. Lepine, Chief Constable," posted on August 15, 1930. 

Features official stamp: "Police Detective Bureau / Received Aug 25 1930 / Hall of Justice / San Francisco."

From the collection of Police Chief Michael Webb (1950-2009). Webb joined the Vinita Park, Missouri police force in 1974 and served until his death in 2009, during which time he purchased crime artifacts from relatives of criminals and law officers. Boasting more than 8,000 wanted posters, pieces of Webb’s collection have been featured in film and displayed at the National Crime and Punishment Museum in Washington.

Measuring approximately 8.5 x 11, this notice exhibits the expected age wear, toning, rippling, a small tear to the right edge and mounting remnants on verso.
