Ballard French Nolen

Ballard French​ Nolen, American bank robber, original, vintage Wanted Poster. Nolen and his brother, Joseph, engaged in an 11-day crime spree upon escaping federal prison. Finding themselves surrounded by the authorities, a fatal shoot out ensued in a small uptown bedroom in Manhattan, New York.

Headline reads: "Wanted by the FBI / Escaped Federal Prisoner / Ballard French Nolan [sic]," dated September 10, 1952. Verso bears print: "Federal Bureau of Investigation / United States Department of Justice / Official Business Permit 1003," along with a lengthy list of branches.

Measuring approximately 10.5 x 16, this poster exhibits the expected age wear, with intersecting folds and light toning.
