Thomas J. Wood (September 25, 1823 - February 26, 1906), Union Army general in the American Civil War, authentic, original unsigned 1800s carte-de-visite photograph card. Published by J.W. Campbell, Army Photographer, 20th Army Corps, Army of the Cumberland.
During the War, Wood commanded a division of Buell's Army of the Ohio at Shiloh, Perryville, and most notably at Murfreesboro, where he especially distinguished himself. Prior to the Civil War Wood served on the staff of General Zachary Taylor in the Mexican-American War.
Approximately 2.5 x 4 inches in size, this Carte-de-visite photograph is in good condition, aside from a slight touch of expected aging.
