Pope Pius IX (May 13, 1792 – February 7, 1878), Head of the Roman Catholic Church, original vintage 1800s printed Carte-de-visite (CDV) featuring an illustrated portrait.
Born Giovanni Maria Mastai-Ferretti, he headed the church from 16 June 1846 to his death in 1878. He was the longest-reigning elected pope in the history of the Catholic Church — totaling nearly 32 years.
Approximately 2.5 x 4 inches. Good condition, with slight expected age.
