John W. Lowe

John W. Lowe (1809 - September 10, 1861), Union Army officer killed in the American Civil War, authentic, original 1800s Carte-de-visite photograph. Published by D. Appleton & Co. of New York.

Prior to the Civil War LOwe fought in the Mexican-American War.  In the Civil War he was mortally wounded at the Battle of Carnifex Ferry, West Virginia on September 10, 1861.

Approximately 2.5 x 4 inches in size, this Carte-de-visite photograph is in good condition, aside from a slight touch of expected aging.
