John McArthur

John McArthur (November 17, 1826 – May 15, 1906), Union Army general in the American Civil War, original 1800s Carte-de-visite photograph. Published by Barr & Young, Army Photographers of Vicksburg, Mississippi.

One of the ablest Federal commanders in the Western Theater, McArthur saw action at the Battle of Fort Donelson, Battle of Shiloh, Seige of Corith and Seige of Vicksburg.

Approximately 2.5 x 4 inches in size, this Carte-de-visite photograph is in good condition, aside from a slight touch of expected aging.
