Edward Baker

Edward Dickinson Baker (February 24, 1811 - October 21, 1861), United States Senator and Civil War Union officer, killed in action, authentic, original 1800s Carte-de-visite photograph card. Published by Charles D. Fredricks & Co. of New York.

Baker was the only sitting Senator killed in action in the Civil War, having been killed in the Battle of Ball's Bluff.  Baker also served in the Mexican-American War and was a close, personal friend of President Abraham Lincoln.

Approximately 2.5" x 4" in size.  Expected light overall aging, otherwise good condition.
