Andrew Preston Peabody (March 19, 1811, – March 10, 1893), American clergyman and author, 19th century head-and-shoulders cabinet card portrait. Bottom panel bears print, "Pach Bros / Cambridge, Mass." Born in Beverly, Massachusetts, Peabody entered Harvard University at twelves years of age and would become the institution's youngest graduate. He served as a pastor in Portsmouth, New Hampshire before returning to preach at Harvard in 1860. As proprietor and editor of the North American Review, he guided the publication from 1853-1863, after which time he assumed the role of Plummer Professor of Christian Morals, a post he served from 1860-1881.
Measuring approximately 4.25 x 6.5, this cabinet card is in very good condition, with some light soiling and the corner tip of the bottom left corner missing.
