John F. Kennedy

"In High Places" by Arthur Hailey, 1962 first edition, gifted to President John F. Kennedy by former Military Aide, Chester Clifton. A unique piece, personally owned by the President and accompanied by a typed "Memorandum" letter from Clifton to President Kennedy, reading in part:
 
"Memorandum For The President,

Here is a novel which you might find entertaining and interesting. Allegedly, it is the Canadian version of "Advise and Consent". I found it rather well written and, since it involves something -- an act of union between the United States and Canada -- which might come in your administrations, it will probably be interesting to you."

Clifton has hand signed at the conclusion of his letter dated March 6, 1962 "C.V.C" C.V. Clifton. He has also signed the first free page of the book "Ted Clifton." The book is in good condition with the only age being a few light tears along the dust jacket edges and spine.
