The Korean War (June 25, 1950 – July 27, 1953), started when North Korea invaded South Korea. The United Nations, with United States as the principal force, came to aid of South Korea. China, along with assistance from Soviet Union, came to aid of North Korea. The war arose from the division of Korea at the end of World War II and from the global tensions of the Cold War that developed immediately afterwards.
Printed in the second half of the 20th century as part of the American Heritage Publishing Archive.
