George Arliss (April 10, 1868 – February 5, 1946), English actor, author, playwright and filmmaker who found success in the United States, vintage, 8 x 10 inch, glossy photograph as the Sultan of Rungay in 'East Meets West.' Dated 1936.
Arliss was the first British actor to win an Academy Award, as well as being the earliest-born actor to win an Academy Award.
'East Meets West' is a 1936 British drama film directed by Herbert Mason and starring George Arliss, Lucie Mannheim, Godfrey Tearle and John Laurie. It was made at the Lime Grove Studios in London. The film's art direction was by Oscar Friedrich Werndorff.
Verso bears original handwritten ID and date as well as credit stamping. In very good condition.
