Erik Bruhn

Erik Bruhn (October 3, 1928 - April 1, 1986), classic Danish ballet dancer, choreographer and music director of the 20th century. Original vintage, 8 x 10 inch matte finish, silver-print photograph by W.J. Reilly.

Bruhn, who who appeared mainly as a guest artist with North American and European companies, was widely noted for his outstanding classical technique. Frequently described as an ideal danseur noble, Bruhn was noted for his exceptionally graceful portrayals in such 19th-century Romantic ballets as La Sylphide, Giselle, and Swan Lake.
