Brunswick Monument, Geneva, Switzerland​, 19th century mounted albumen photograph. Built in 1879, the Brunswick Monument is a mausoleum construced in commemoration of Charles II, Duke of Brunswick (1804 - 1873). He bequeathed his fortune to the city of Geneva in exchange for a monument to be built in his name, specifying that it be a replica of the Scaliger Tombs in Verona, Italy. Identifying ink notation on bottom mount.
Measuring approximately 7 x 10 and affixed to an 11 x 14 mount, this photograph is in very good condition, with light toning, rippling, an adhesive strip across the top edge, and a few small tears to the left edge.
