William Martin Conway

William Martin Conway, 1st Baron Conway of Allington (April 12, 1856 – April 19, 1937), English mountaineer, art critic, politician and cartographer, original, vintage photograph. Conway ascended a subsidiary summit of Baltoro Kangri, a feat that earned him a world altitude record with a height of 23,000 ft (7,010 m). He went on to explore the interior of Spitsbergen and surveyed the Bolivian Andes. 

Ink notation on verso reads: "Lord Conway of Allington."
