Lieutenant General Douglas Mackinnon Baillie Hamilton Cochrane, 12th Earl of Dundonald KCB, KCVO (October 29, 1852 – 12 April 1935), a Scottish representative peer and a British Army general, vintage, albumen silver print photograph. A Scottish royal, Cochrane enlisted in the Life Guards in 1870. He commanded the 2nd Life Guards Detachment of the Sudan Camel Corps in the Nile expedition for the Relief of Gordan in 1874, and would go on to command the 3rd Mounted Brigade in the Boer War.
Illustrated Associated Press stamp appears on verso, as well as identifying notation in an unknown hand.
Measuring approximately 4 x 5.25, this photograph is in fine condition, with some light age wear.
