Beatrice O'Brien Marconi (1882-1976), first wife of Guglielmo Marconi, an Italian inventor, known for his pioneering work on long distanceradio transmission and for his development of Marconi's law and a radio telegraph system. Marconi is often credited as the inventor of radio, and he shared the 1909 Nobel Prize in Physics with Karl Ferdinand Braun" in recognition of their contributions to the development of wireless telegraphy." This vintage, oval shaped photograph, measuring 6 x 8 inches is in fine condition aside from some very slight age wear. A hand stamp of the American supplier, a remnant of a news clipping and ink identifications of her various titles or designations appear on its verso.
