Wanted Posters

Original vintage double-sided Wanted Posters, affixed to a slightly larger album page. Poster on front reads: "Jewelry Stolen! $100.00 Reward," listing various items of jewelry stolen from a Buffalo, New York residence on March 14, 1911.

Three smaller fliers affixed to verso for an Idaho man wanted for "Jail Breaking"; a "House Burglary," and a missing man from Washington, D.C.

Official stamp of the "Office Chief of Police, San Francisco, Cal," impressed on two of the fliers, one dated March 30, 1911 and the other March 31, 1911.

From the collection of Police Chief Michael Webb (1950-2009). Webb joined the Vinita Park, Missouri police force in 1974 and served until his death in 2009, during which time he purchased crime artifacts from relatives of criminals and law officers. Boasting more than 8,000 wanted posters, pieces of Webb’s collection have been featured in film and displayed at the National Crime and Punishment Museum in Washington.

Measuring approximately 10 x 12, poster exhibits the expected toning, age wear, some tearing and rippling.
