Original vintage double-sided Wanted Posters, affixed to a slightly larger album page. Poster on front is a missing flier for a Charles F.Rector, "last seen March 30th, in this city: was then suffering with a bealing [sic] ear..." hailing from the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Bureau of Police on April 16, 1911.
Pinkerton Agency flier affixed to verso, offering a "$325 Reward to Police Authorities, Jewelers, Loan Offices and Pawnbrokers," listing a plethora of different jewelries which "were stolen on Friday, April 11, 1911..."
Posters bears the official stamp: "Office Chief of Police, San Francisco, Cal, April 22 1911, Hall of Justice."
From the collection of Police Chief Michael Webb (1950-2009). Webb joined the Vinita Park, Missouri police force in 1974 and served until his death in 2009, during which time he purchased crime artifacts from relatives of criminals and law officers. Boasting more than 8,000 wanted posters, pieces of Webb’s collection have been featured in film and displayed at the National Crime and Punishment Museum in Washington.
Measuring approximately 10 x 12, poster exhibits the expected toning, age wear, some tearing and rippling.
