Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark (February 2, 1882 – December 3, 1944), member of the House of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, son of King George I and brother of King Constantine, vintage, unsigned, silver print photograph, measuring approximately 8 x 10. An officer in the Greek army, Andrew served in the Balkan Wars. When King Constantine was abdicated for neutrality shown during World War I, most of the royal family were exiled, including Andrew.
Photograph features Prince Andrew's trial. Sheet previously affixed to verso describes the scene: "The Trial of Prince Andrew / The first photo to reach here of Prince Andrew, brother of former King Constantine of Greece, on trial in Athens. Prince Andrew is seated at the right. Standing at the left is General Papoulas, commander of the Creek Military Forces, who charged Prince Andrew with treason in disobeying orders regarding the movement of troops during the war with the Turks...12-20-22."
Verso also bears officialy "International Newsreel" stamp.
Photograph exhibits uniform toning, rippling, some bends and surface wrinkling.
