John F. Kennedy (29 May 1917- 22 November 1963), thirty-fifth President of the United States, original, vintage, unsigned 8" x 10" glossy black and white candid photograph from the Kennedy administration trip to Bogota, Columbia in 1961.
Arguing that "those who make peaceful revolution impossible, will make violent revolution inevitable,"Kennedy sought to contain the perceived threat of communism in Latin America by establishing the Alliance for Progress, which sent aid to some countries and sought greater human rights standards in the region.
This photograph, a poignant trip for the President and First Lady, was taken by noted Presidential photographer Cecil W. Stoughton, and hand stamped with his photographer marking on the reverse "Cecil W. Stoughton" along with a pencil photograph number notation, likely by Stoughton, 285-54-61
Photograph is in fine condition and comes from the estate of former Military Aide to The President, Chester Clifton.
