George Smith Patton Jr. (November 11, 1885 – December 21, 1945) was a General of the United States Army who commanded the U.S. Seventh Army in the Mediterranean theater of World War II, and the U.S. Third Army in France and Germany following the Allied invasion of Normandy in June 1944.
Scarce signed envelope. Sent to Mrs. Keith Merrill on December 31, 1942 with General Patton signing a censorship signature to the lower left "Censored G.S. Patton Jr. Maj. Gen."
Envelope measures approximately 4 x 9.5 inches. Fine condition with only slight signs of age and toning.
Slabbed and autograph graded by PSA/DNA NM-MT 8. Accompanied by a printed typscript, based on research within the Patton Papers, of the letter originally housed within this envelope.
