Charles King (October 31, 1886 – January 11, 1944), vaudeville and Broadway actor, authentic, autographed vintage handwritten quotation (AQS), 7.75 x 5. As well as ruling the stage, King starred in several movies including the hit MGM movie, "The Broadway Melody" (1929), the first all-talking film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Extracted from the pages of a 1902 Autograph Calendar book recovered from Orange Memorial Hospital, New Jersey, King added the following quote to a page with the printed date of September 8: "We are all paragons of wisdom in the management of other peoples' children. It is in dealing with our own that our limitations become apparent. Charles King."
In fine condition, with overall light toning and a rough left edge from extraction.
