Frank Lloyd Wright (June 8, 1867 - April 9, 1959), pre-eminent American architect, interior designer, writer and educator, who designed more than 1000 structures and completed 532 works, authentic, autographed original blueprint of the Monona Terrace Convention Center.
Wright is well known for his countless brilliant designs, such as the Solomon Guggenheim Museum in New York and the 'Fallingwater' residence in Pennsylvania. He is been considered by many to be the greatest American architect of all time.
18 x 44.5 inch original blueprint on off-white drawing paper showing the arches of paned glass from across the water's perspective of the Monona Terrace in Madison, Wisconsin. Wright originally proposed his design for Monona Terrace in 1938, as a municipal office building, however, local politics prevented the building's construction until 1997, as a convention center. The convention center features Wright's original design for the exterior, with a resigned interior by Wright's apprentice Tony Puttnam.
Signed "FLLW/56" inside a hand-drawn red 'Taliesen' box.
In very good condition, aside from some scattered creases, toning and light soiling from apparent use.
