Steve "SAK" Kaufman

Steven Alan Kaufman (also known as Steve "SAK" Kaufman, December 29, 1960 – February 12, 2010), American pop artist, fine artist, sculptor, stained glass artist, filmmaker, photographer and humanitarian. His entry into the world of serious pop art began in his teens when he became an assistant to Andy Warhol at The Factory studio. Nicknamed "SAK" by Warhol, Kaufman executed such pieces as the 144-foot long canvas bearing the names of those who died in the September 11 attacks that toured the country. Authentic, original, autographed 'American Gothic -State II' oversized painting/screen print. Kaufman, former assistant of legendary pop artist Andy Warhol, is regarded as one of the most highly sought after and important pop artists of his time. He has refined the silk-screening process for greater self-expression as evident in this piece 'American Gothic - State II."
