Richard Nixon

Richard Nixon (January 9, 1913 – April 22, 1994), 37th President of the United States, authentic, autographed typed letter (TLS). The letter is typed on official White House stationary and is dated September 13, 1972.

Nixon's presidency is best-remembered for his escalation, and then ending of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War, as well as the Watergate scandal, which eventually led to Nixon resigning from the Office.

In the letter, addressed to Congressman Bill Young, Nixon writes: "Your special role at the 1972 Republican National Convention added greatly to the message our Party conveyed to the American people -- that of concerned patriotic individuals engaged in the political process. Thanks to your untiring efforts, we have laid the foundation for victory in November, and I want you to have the enclosed as a token of my deep appreciation for your good work and dedication to our cause..."
