Richard Nixon (January 9, 1913 – April 22, 1994), 37th President of the United States, authentic, autographed typed letter (TLS). The letter is typed on official White House stationary and is dated November 16, 1972.
Nixon's presidency is best-remembered for his escalation, and then ending of U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War, as well as the Watergate scandal, which eventually led to Nixon resigning from the Office.
In the letter, addressed to Congressman Bill Young, Nixon writes: "As I look back at our great victory of November 7, one of the most gratifying aspects of the returns was the fact that you were re-elected to the House. I want to join your many friends and supporters in extending my congratulations and very best wishes.
I look forward to working with you over the next four years in building a record all Americans, regardless of party, can be proud of..."
Signed in black ink pen. Fine condition.
