Jean-Pierre Bachasson, Count of Montalivet (5 July 1766 - 22 January 1823), French statesman, authentic, autographed manuscript letter (LS). This one page letter, measures approximately 8" x 9" in size and is dated August 18, 1810. 

The letter is attached to a larger piece of paper that has a slight tear in the right hand margin. There is also additional notations on the reverse of the letter. It is written on his official stationery as Minister of the Interior.

Bachasson became a Minister of the Interior in 1809 and during that time helped to develop the infrastructure of the French landscape.  He assisted in the construction of new bridges and ports, the Arc de Triomphe and the Palais Brongniar, as well as the expansion of sewage works and the digging of public fountains.

This untranslated letter is crisply signed by Bachasson. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The letter contains some scattered creases and expected intersecting folds.
