Jean-Baptiste Isabey (11 April 1767 - 18 April 1855), French painter, authentic, autographed annotated letter (ALS). This one page letter measures approximately 3" x 5" in size and is undated.
The letter is addressed to an unknown lady whom portrait he was painting. In the letter, Isabey states he has a headache and would work poorly if he continued. He requests to have the sitting postponed until the following day,
Isabey is well known for arranging the ceremonies of the marriage of Josephine and Napoleon Bonaparte. He also prepared the drawings for the publication intended as its official commemoration.
This one page letter is crisply signed by Isabey at the conclusion. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The letter contains some scattered creases, small tears and expected intersecting folds. There are also two small holes in the top blank portion of the letter.
