Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (July 28, 1929 – May 19, 1994), wife of the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy, and First Lady of the United States, authentic, autographed handwritten note (ANS), dated 1966.
Kennedy writes, in festive green ink: "Merry Christmas dear Margie and Bob [McNamara] - / Love Jackie."
Robert Strange McNamara (June 9, 1916 – July 6, 2009), eighth Secretary of Defense, serving under Presidents John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson from 1961 to 1968, during which time he played a large role in escalating the United States involvement in the Vietnam War.
Margaret Craig McNamara (22 August 1915 – 3 February 1981), founder of the nonprofit children's literacy organization Reading is Fundamental and the wife of the United States Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara.
The handwritten note, on red boarded stationary, measures approximately 3.75 x 5.25 inches and is excellent condition with no discernable markings or flaws. Verso is blank and clean.
