Henry Richard Vassall-Fox, 3rd Baron Holland (21 November 1773 - 22 October 1840), English politician, authentic, autographed annotated letter (ALS). This three page letter measures approximately 3" x 6" in size and is undated.

In the letter, he states "Dear Stanley... the country won't forgive us if we get ourselves into war." This letter is also accompanied by an engraved print which features a facsimile signature. The print is approximately 6" x 8" in size and in good condition. The print is affixed to a piece of paper. Also attached to the paper are five clippings which all contain biographical information on Vassall-Fox. 

Vassall-Fox was an English politician and a major figure in Whig politics in the early 19th century. A grandson of Henry Fox, 1st Baron Holland, and nephew of Charles James Fox, he served as Lord Privy Seal between 1806 and 1807 in the Ministry of All the Talents headed by Lord Grenville. He served as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster between 1830 and 1834 and again between 1835 until his death in 1840, in the Whig administrations of Lord Grey and Lord Melbourne. He is also well known for introducing a bill in parliament which would have abolished the death penalty for the crime of stealing. 

This undated letter is crisply signed at the conclusion by the Vassall-Fox. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The letter contains some scattered creases and expected intersecting folds.
