Henri Rochefort, Marquis de Rochefort-Lucay (30 January 1831 - 30 June 1913), French politician, authentic, autographed annotated letter (ALS). This two page letter measures approximately 4" x 7" in size and is dated October 22, 1876. 

 This letter was written while Rochefort was in exile. It is regarding his novel "The Shipwreck."

Rochefort was a French politician, journalist and playwright. He was known for his public attacks of Napoleon III through many of his writings and plays. Later, he was involved in a Communist uprising in 1871, which led to his eventual departure from France in 1873.

This letter is crisply signed at the conclusion by Rochefort. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The letter contains some scattered creases and expected intersecting folds.
