Gerald Ford

Gerald Ford (July 14, 1913 – December 26, 2006), 38th President of the United States, authentic autographed typed letter (TLS).  The letter is typed on official White House stationary and is dated August 9, 1976.

In the letter, addressed to Congressman Bill Young, Ford responds to a letter sent to him as President on August 5th relating to the 1976 Republican Convention: "I wish to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the support, confidence and loyalty expressed by you and those who joined with you in the August 5 letter to me.

It is encouraging to me to know that you share my commitment to the programs and policies of the past two years, and that we will be joined in the effort to ensure their continuation. Your assistance will be invaluable in achieving a Republican victory in November."

The letter is signed "Jerry Ford" in black felt tip pen. Accompanied by original White House mailing envelope. Light wrinkling and mailing folds, otherwise fine condition.
