Ferdinando Paer (1 July 1771 - 3 May 1839), Italian composer, authentic, autographed annotated letter (ALS). This one page letter, measures approximately 7" x 9" in size and is dated September 1, 1824.

Paer was well known for his operas and oratorios and is probably best known for composing a bridal march for the wedding of Napoleon Bonaparte and his second wife, Marie Louise, Duchess of Parma (April 2, 1810).

In 1809, he composed his most famous opera, "Agnese". In total, he wrote 55 operas and numerous compositions, cantatas and songs.

The letter is addressed to a colleague stating that he had not forgotten an invitation from a certain lady and that he will listen to her good and kind young daughter play.

This letter is crisply signed at the conclusion by Paer. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. However, there is a gouge at the lower right hand corner that just misses the "r" of the surname. The letter also contains some scattered creases and expected intersecting folds.
