Eugene Hale

Eugene Hale (June 9, 1836-October 27, 1918), United States Senator from Maine, authentic, autographed hand-written letter circa "1870s." Along the top edge in an other hand has been added "Around 1870" and "My Father" with another notation in the same hand in the lower left-hand corner adding "Senator from Maine..." These notations are likely from the son of Hale as noted by the addition of "My Father" along the upper edge. This signed letter, clipped in an irregular shape, is in fair condition for its age with a number of mailing folds and remnants of tape.
