Elizabeth Graeme Fergusson (3 February 1737 - 23 February 1801), American poet and author, authentic, autographed annotated letter (ALS). This two page letter measures approximately 3" x 6" in size and is undated.

Fergusson was the granddaughter to Sir William Keith, 8th Governor of Pennsylvania. Around 1757, she became engaged to William Franklin, the illegitimate son of Benjamin Franklin. However, the couple never married.

In 1772, she married Henry H. Fergusson. Henry spent much of his time in England. During the American Revolution her husband had Loyalist sympathies. He asked her to carry a letter, written by Reverend Jacob Duche, to George Washington. The letter asked the General to surrender, but he declined.

This undated letter is crisply signed at the conclusion by Fergusson. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The letter contains some scattered creases, soiling and expected intersecting folds. There is also an address leaf on the reverse.
