Count Marie MacMahon

Count Marie MacMahon, French Marshal and President (1873 - 1879) authentic, autographed manuscript letter (LS). This two page letter measures approximately 4" x 7" in size and is dated August 9, 1871. 

The letter was written at the time MacMahon served as Marshal in Command. The letter is written on official stationery. In the letter, MacMahon suggests an applicant for appointment as Captain apply to the Minister of War, stressing his military services. 

This letter is crisply signed at the conclusion by MacMahon. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The letter contains expected intersecting fold lines, small tears and some scattered creases.
