$1,295.00 - Product is currently out of stock.
Clara Schumann (13 September 1819 – 20 May 1896), German pianist, authentic, autographed letter, 5.25 x 8.25, dated Berlin, May 16, 1864. Considered one of the most notable pianists of the Romantic era, Schumann influenced and changed the structure of the piano recital and the way in which it was received over her 61-year concert career.
Penned in German on both sides of blue stationary Schumann writes: "Dear Mr. Eckardt, ...I would like to ask once more about the photographs. I would like to have another dozen of them, and I believe I am fully entitled to get six of them free of charge because I only received three, and everywhere else when I approve the sale [of my photograph] I get one dozen. I will pay for the extra photographs, but if the man does not want to do that, I will pay for the whole dozen. I only request that I receive them soon...The facial expression has come out well, only the finish is coarse...Please remember me some times, I will always remain / Clara Schumann."
Features the expected mailing folds, a few light spots of discoloration and mild show-through from ink on verso, otherwise fine condition.
