Guillaume Francois Marie Legendre Harvesse (November 1766 - 24 April 1828), French General, authentic, autographed manuscript letter (LS). This one page letter measures approximately 7" x 11" in size and is dated November 17, 1874. 

The letter is addressed to Captain J.J. Marnier, Aide-de Camp to the late Marshal Baron Gault de Bonneval. Marnier is ordered to report without delay as Aide-de-Camp to Lieutenant General Count Rapp. It is signed as Secretary General of the Minister of War and written on the official stationary of the Ministry.

Baron Harvesse was a well known General of both the revolutionary and Napoleonic Armies. He participated in several military campaigns, including that of the Battle of Austerlitz. He rose to the rank of the Commander of the Legion of Honour in August of 1814. 

This letter is crisply signed at the conclusion by Baron Harvesse as Secretary General Legendre. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The letter contains some scattered creases.
