Marmont was a French General of the Napoleonic Wars who was created a Duke of Ragusa (1808), Marshal of the Empire (1809) and Peer of France (1814). However, is best known for deserting the loyalty of Napoleon and joining forces with king Louis XVIII during the Hundred Days of Napoleon's return from exile.
