Anne Plotton, concerned French citizen, authentic, autographed two page letter, approximately 9"x 13" in size. The letter is dated June 4, 1794.

The letter is a deposition by Plotton concerning citizen Antoine Gerin who has been arrested. In it, she writes that Mr. Gerin is an honest and decent man who always disliked the power of kings, the mummeries of the priests and the scandalous indolences of the monks.

The letter is also endorsed and signed by several other unidentified individuals, including the Mayor of Commune d'arme and other local officials.

Gerin was arrested on the pretext of having signed an address to the people of Lyon, for which he claims he had no knowledge of at all. He was arrested by Citizen Pignon whom had Gerin's house sealed.

This letter is crisply signed by Plotton along with several others. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signatures. The letter contains scattered creases, small tears and expected intersecting folds.
