Adolphe Thiers (15 April 1797 - 3 September 1877), French politician and historian, authentic, autographed annotated letter (ALS). This one page letter measures approximately 3" x 6" in size and is undated.
The letter is addressed to an unnamed woman asking her to postpone a meeting to the following day because his friends, the Remusats, arrived unexpectedly.
Thiers was a leading historian of the French Revolution. He is well known for serving as Prime Minister of France in 1836, 1840 and 1848. He was also a vocal opponent of Emperor Napoleon III.
This undated letter is crisply signed at the conclusion by the Thiers. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The letter contains a small tear and expected intersecting folds.
