Louise Charlotte Francoise Le Teller de Montesquiou, (1765 - 1835), Countess and Governess of the Children of France, authentic, autographed manuscript document (DS). This two page document, measures approximately 7" x 12" in size and is dated December 1, 1811.
The document is a receipt for a variety of ordered goods. It contains records of several monetary exchanges.
Montesquiou served as the Governess of the Children of France from 1811 to 1815 under Napoleon I. The Governess of the Children of France was an official title charged with the education of the children and grand children of the monarch. The individual was taken from the highest ranking nobility of France.
Montesquiou was highly regarded by Napoleon I and was the Governess to his son, Napoleon Francois Charles Joseph Bonaparte, who later went on to serve as Prince Imperial, King of Rome, Prince of Parma and Duke of Reichstadt. He was also the son to Napoleon I second wife, Archduchess Marie Louise of Austria.
This document is crisply signed at the conclusion by Montesquiou. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature.
