King Louis Philippe (6 October 1773 - 26 August 1850), French King, autographed manuscript document (DS). This one page document measures approximately 8 x 10" and is dated December 21, 1841.

Louis served as France's last King. He was the son of Louis Philippe Joseph, duc d’Orleans (known as "Philippe Égalité"), and a descendant of King Louis XIII. He enlisted liberal leanings and was loyal to the Jacobin movement during the French Revolution.

He was exiled for 20 years. During this time, his family split up and went to different countries. His father was executed by way of the guillotine during the infamous Reign of Terror.

This untranslated letter is crisply signed at the conclusion by King Louis Philippe. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. There are some expected intersecting folds (which have separated) and have been repaired on the verso.
