Jean Fleury, President of the Civil Court of the Department of the North, San Domingo, authentic, autographed document (DS). This three page document, measures approximately 8" x 12" in size and is dated March 19, 1800.
In the document, Fleury certifies the signatures of two assistants who sign a statement made by John Custis and John Berry Jr., American Captains residing at Au Cap who had inspected the American Schooner "Sarah & Rebecca Ward" in that port. The two had found the schooner to be considerably unseaworthy. Many details of the schooner and their findings are provided in this document.
This untranslated document is crisply signed at the conclusion by Fleury. There is a handsome stamp next to the signature. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning, not affecting the signature. There are scattered creases, wear around the edges and expected intersecting folds.
