Jakob Friedrich Kolb, Mayor of the German city of Aix-la-Chapelle, authentic, autographed document (DS). This one page letter measures approximately 7" x 9" in size and is dated August 9, 1803. It is written on official stationery of the Department de La Roer.

In this document, Kolb provides notification to Citizen Joseph Jardon, a wine merchant, that he is to be named as assessor for the year, which was made official by an order of the governor.

The City of Aix-la-Chapelle is commonly referred to as the City of Aachen. It was in 1801 when the city became the "chef-lieu du department de la Roer" within Napoleon's First French Empire.

This one page, untranslated document is crisply signed by Kolb at the conclusion. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The document contains some scattered creases and expected intersecting folds.
